Birthday Trip to the Museum

For Arthur's actual birthday, we took him to Kohl's Children's Museum. We had so much fun that we decided to get a membership as his birthday present, so he will get to play there again and again.

He took a pause in one of the crawler zones to take it all in before we hit up the different areas.

Hey, what happens when he hit that blue button?

Wheeee! Water everywhere!

Despite this picturesque grimace, the water room was a huge hit with Arthur.

He enjoyed it from inside and outside.

The blocks were also quite popular. Granted, Arthur was more interested in knocking them over and/or putting them in his mouth than building with them, but that's a minor quibble.

Plus, the museum gets him started on basic home upkeep tasks. We're eager for him to start walking so that we can put him to work. Two years old isn't too soon for house painting, is it?

And some behind-the-scenes photos from the birthday cake caper.
Before.

After!

The remains of the cake (before Mom finished it off!)
